As we walk with people out of the darkness of sexual confusion into the light of freedom in Christ, we count our legacy in lives changed and hearts healed. To provide this legacy, however, requires ongoing prayer and financial support. We are so grateful to how God provides financially for us year in and year out. We invite you now to consider continuing your personal legacy through planned giving. Planned giving is a powerful way to ensure that your generosity continues to make a difference long into the future here at Outpost.
There are a number of ways to plan ahead and provide a legacy gift to our ministry. See below for more particulars. We are honored to recognize those who plan a legacy gift by naming them as our Outpost Legacy Partners. All members of this esteemed group will receive the following benefits:
- Early discounted access to upcoming Outpost-TCJHOP events and resources
- Special communications about ministry activities
- A special welcome gift
As the world continues to embrace and promote identities and behaviors that draw people away from the light and life of Christ, the message of Outpost becomes more needed. We invite you to use planned giving as a way to ensure your legacy of partnership in ministry continues on for many years to come.
Leaving a Legacy
You can designate Outpost Ministries to receive specific gifts upon your passing. There are two main ways to do so: leaving a bequest or designating us as a beneficiary on certain assets. If you do set up a legacy gift, please let us know you’ve done so, as this will also allow us to welcome you into the fellowship of Outpost Legacy Partners.
– Bequest
A bequest is a gift outlined in your will. Bequests can be designated as a specific amount, a percentage of your assets, or a list of specific assets. We plan to use bequests to help fund ongoing ministry efforts and to spearhead new projects.
– Beneficiary
Another option is to designate Outpost as one of your life insurance or retirement account beneficiaries. You can designate us as a full beneficiary or as one of a group. We plan to use beneficiary money to help fund ongoing ministry efforts and to spearhead new projects.
Retirement Account Distribution
If you are currently receiving an Annual Minimum Distribution (AMD) from a retirement asset like an IRA, you may have the option to designate some or all to be given directly to Outpost. You must be at least 70-1/2 years of age to set up this type of distribution. Consult with your CPA or tax preparer to make sure you qualify.
Consider:
- When you receive your AMD and add that amount to your income, you pay taxes on the distribution.
- However, if you donate your AMD directly to a charity, there are no taxes paid by either you or the charity.
- Furthermore, you are able to claim your charitable contribution as a deduction.
If you do set up a distribution, please let us know you’ve done so and when we can expect the gift. This will also allow us to welcome you into the fellowship of Outpost Legacy Partners.
